Echoes of Dissent Ep 5 - Mother Earth
Mother Earth 1990, Neil Young, Mother Earth(National Anthem) — a forgotten gem that is the ultimate soundtrack for the Gaia Hypothesis: the idea that Planet Earth, on which we are totally dependent, is a living, self-regulating organism completely indifferent to our survival. We explore how Young’s prophetic voice speaks to today’s climate crisis, Indigenous land ethics, and the anthem we actually need — one for the planet, not the nationalistic flag.

Keeping Print Alive
Print is supposed to be dead, so why is this magazine growing? In this episode, I sit down with Michael Andrew, the owner and editor of On the Land, an independent print magazine telling the stories of people living closely with the land across Aotearoa. After buying the magazine for just $1, Michael took a risk on something most people would walk away from: print media. From his base in Ruapuke, he has rebuilt the publication with a clear mission, and a deep connection to a growing movement of people returning to the land. We talk about what it really takes to make a print magazine work in 2026, and why slow, thoughtful storytelling still matters in a fast digital world.

Equal Agenda Series 4 Ep 2 – WAR, what IS it good for
WAR, What is it Good For? Despite popular belief, women have been caught up in war across history, from the world wars to more recent conflicts, while often being left out of the story. Romain and Immy look at how war has been packaged as a “man’s job,” from all‑male conscription to the way politics and armies are still seen as masculine spaces. And we unpack how, during wartime, women are pushed into roles like factory workers, caregivers, and emotional support systems for soldiers. It’s a lively, honest chat about the ways war has shaped women’s bodies, lives, and identities.

Feature Album of the Week
Fables - Change Is A Slow Moving Beast [2026]
The world of Tamaki Makaurau singer-songwriter Jessica Bailey, aka Fables. Over twelve moody, vividly realised chambers of song, she navigates indecision, vulnerability, and self-reflection, before realising that the pursuit of artistic clarity is the journey and the destination.
New Playlisted Music
Tashaki Miyaki - Sweet Child O'Mine - a fine remake of the G'nR standard [arguably an uncredited rip of Australian Crawl's 1981 track Unpublished Critics!]
