ep. 741 - The Great Psych Submersion
Three certified classics give you a taste of the era, but the main event is down in the muck. We fulfill the Retrospect mandate by plumbing the absolute depths of obscurity—where the fuzz is heavier, the sitars are weirder, and the records are practically mythical. Full playlist always posted via Retrospect 60s Garage Punk Show on Facebook and Insta. Retrospect is created by Phil Grey at Free FM 89.0 [Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, NZ].

Echoes of Dissent Ep 18 - Pay Parity for Lawyers
A neighbourhood legal practice – conveyancing, wills, trusts, employment law. Nine-to-five. Templates. $350/hr A Midwife Collective – four midwives, one admin. On call 24/7. Life and death decisions. $78/hr. We follow a lawyer through a routine day of changing names on templates, and a midwife through a 3am emergency callout. We compare the training, the stress, the impact on families - and the pay gap that defies all logic. Featuring the protest anthem ‘The Mighty Sword of Justice’ by Tom Robinson with Billy Bragg we expose a system where legal fees are protected by monopoly – and those who catch our babies are paid a fraction of the cost of a conveyancing file. Time for pay parity for lawyers?

The Paleface Parabola - 12-08-2026

And it's not lost upon me that at age 69, I'm a living link to what was and is in 2026: radioland. Thus and so, and after a week off to remodel, the Paleface Parabola returns today and after some rust removal, we got it on! We’ll stand by this show. It is us in all our ragged glory. Big Joe Turner, the Jake Mason Trio, Low Cut Connie, and Imarhan, and Bill Kelly & the House of Cards dropping by to sound off. Among the others and the Mystery Man’s stomper of the week to bring down the curtain on the programme this week. Let's meet up and part friends.
